Inventor...
I had never even heard of Inventor before this class let alone used it. At first I thought it was easier to use than Rhino but after a while I found some elements were, where as others weren't. I like the ability to edit previous actions, such as going back into sketches and extrusions, without having to delete and restart.
This is the part the entire class made as our first crash run in Inventor
Sketch 1: the use of the rectangle, line and arc tools as well as being able to set dimensions to desired length |
Finish sketch. Extrude symmetrically |
Sketch 2: rectangle tool |
Finish sketch. Used the revolve tool to create a cylinder |
Sketch 3: Circle tool |
Finish sketch: Extrude circle symmetrically |
Used concentric hole tool to create a hole through all of the cylinder |
Same thing through larger cylinder |
Used concentric hole tool to place a hole through the centre of the arc of the first sketch. Was able to give the hole a thread |
Filleted all joins to create extra strength and stability if we were to actually print this model |
Chamfered the ends of the hole in the larger cylinder |
Final model |
